Reduced rate Christmas stamps on sale soon

Guernsey Post's reduced rate (31p) stamps for 2009 will be on sale from 4 to 11 December for local cards posted in the same period.

These reduced rate stamps not only help customers keep down the cost of their Christmas posting, but assists with the mail operation at Guernsey Post, which last Christmas processed and delivered 460,000 local Christmas cards during the reduced rate stamp posting week.

‘December is always very busy for customers,' says Boley Smillie, Operations Director, ‘so we encourage them to take advantage of the reduced rate stamps to cut the cost of posting and ensure that their Christmas wishes are with friends and family in the Bailiwick in good time for Christmas.

‘We expect to have the highest volume of letter mail coming into the island from the UK in the second full week of December and the reduced rate posting week enables us to ensure that local card mail is posted and delivered before this peak period.'
