New security measures for ink and toner cartridges on aircraft

The UK Department of Transport has put new measures in place, with immediate effect, prohibiting the carriage of ink and toner cartridges on flights to and from the UK including all Bailiwick Airports.

Ink and toner cartridges weighing more than 500g for use in printing equipment such as printers, photocopiers and fax machines are no longer permitted on flights.

Guernsey Post will still accept these items for posting, however, they will travel as surface mail only, leaving the island by sea. Customers are requested to present them separately in branch.
