Guernsey
Guernsey Post is advising customers that yesterday's mail arrived overnight by sea and is out on delivery today - this includes letter delivery as well as parcels and Express and Courier services. However, customers should be aware that there may be houses/roads that aren't delivered to because of slippery conditions.
Today's mail is expected to arrive later today - either by air,or if that is not possible, by sea. This will be processed for delivery tomorrow.
Envoy House and Smith St branches, the parcel collection office and BATIF are all open as normal.
Alderney
Conditions on the roads in Alderney are worse today, so although a postal collection will be attempted later today, there will be no mail deliveries because of the black ice on the island's roads.
Mail was collected yesterday - with difficulty - but of course any outbound mail will not be leaving the island today because of the closure of Guernsey's airport.
