Free Christmas Post to Active BFPOs

Guernsey Post is pleased to announce that customers sending packets under 2kg to authorised BFPO addresses (Op TELIC/ KIPION, Op HERRICK, BFPO 622 and HM Ships in support) this Christmas, will once again be able to post them for free.

The service will enable islanders to send packets under 2kg to Army, Air Force and entitled Ministry of Defence deployed civilians on overseas operations and onboard HM ships deployed overseas.

Conditions of use of the service are as follows:
    • Parcels must be taken to Smith Street, Envoy House or the Alderney or Sark branch offices.
    • The latest recommended date for posting is Thursday 1st December 2011 for operational units and Wednesday 14 December 2011 for static BFPOs.
    • The country name should not appear anywhere in the address, and the BFPO number must be the last line of the address.

"We believe it's important to help keep family and friends in touch, especially during the Christmas period, and this is why we are supporting the free BFPO posting initiative" says Cassandra Morris, Guernsey Post's Communication Co-ordinator.
"Customers should note, though, that only packets for authorised BFPO locations qualify for free posting, that packets should be appropriately addressed and should not weigh more than 2kgs."

For further information, customers are advised to go to www.bfpo.mod.uk or phone customer services on 711720.
